He began his academic career as a tenure-track professor before moving into the software sector. Tariq has worked as a test architect, manager, director, and head of quality in the past. In peer-reviewed software testing books, journals, conferences, and workshops, he has authored more than 40 publications. He is a board member and keynote speaker for various worldwide software engineering and testing conferences, as well as a member of the ACM, IEEE Computer Society, and Association of Software Testing.
